Ash Bennett

founder of Bristol Garden Kitchen (BGK)

My Vision

I love food, in particular cooking for friends and family, and I am passionate about self-improvement. Eating well promotes better physical and mental health, increased energy and concentration, improved self-esteem and gives you greater control over your own body and mind. A diet centred primarily around plant based foods such as vegetables, beans and pulses, nuts, seeds and fruits as well as a little sustainable meat and fish, is what we should be aiming for.

By using local and responsibly sourced foods, free from chemicals and preservatives, you can be confident that my ingredients are low impact on the planet and high impact on your health and well-being, whilst supporting small businesses in the local economy. At BGK we value integrity, loyalty, community and honesty.

My Mission

As they say, knowledge is power, and my aim is to arm the people of Bristol and beyond with the knowledge they need to make good and healthy food choices. I want to change the perception that only ‘naughty’ food is a treat, and show that by getting the right flavour combinations together, healthy, responsibly sourced food is even more delicious.

I want to help you help yourself with good home culinary practices that you can apply to all your cooking and easy, nutritious meals for those days when you haven’t got the time or inclination to start from scratch.

My Offer

I have 11 years catering experience combined with nearly 20 years of personal training and coaching, of which nutrition has always played a vital role. I have run my own kitchens, cooked global cuisines, been a private chef and provided mass catering, and in every role I have been mindful of supplying healthy, delicious and responsible food. By combining local fresh ingredients with spices, grains and pulses from further afield I create simple and memorable dishes that your whole family can enjoy.

Through BGK my offer is three-fold; balanced ready-prepared meals delivered to your door; fresh raw ingredients; and cooking lessons. You are welcome to take me up on as much or as little of this as you need.
